The agent of the Frenchman has revealed that the Rossoneri were a genuine option in the summer.
Juventus’ David Trezeguet will bring an end to his 10 year career in Turin at the completion of the season, after making his intentions clear recently.
The Frenchman was keen to leave the Bianconeri in the summer’s transfer period, however unfortunately for his sake no deal was reached with any of the interested parties.
Despite this though, his agent, Antonio Caliendo, has revealed that Milan were extremely close to acquiring his services, however as a mark of respect for his current club, ‘Trez’ opted to stay on for one final season.
“Trezeguet was very close to joining Milan,” the agent explained in an interview with Tuttomercatoweb.
“He never wanted to do things contrary to the will of his club Juventus though, nor did he want to upset his fans.
“Will he leave in January? You can never be sure, but I think he will stay at Juve until the end of the season, as a mark of respect towards the club and the supporters once again.
“He will wait until the club find a suitable replacement, and then move on from there.”
Trezeguet’s Bianconeri side take on Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico next weekend, as they go in search of their third successive victory to open the 2009/10 campaign.
