ANTONIO CALIENDO
Nato nel 1944 in provincia di Napoli, Antonio Caliendo inizia giovanissimo a lavorare come agente della De Agostini per poi, qualche anno più tardi, aprire una casa editrice. Inventore dei diari scolastici dedicati allo sport, pubblica diversi manuali su alcuni grandi campioni degli anni 70, tra cui il campione italiano di tennis Adriano Panatta. Il 16 dicembre 1977 Giancarlo Antognoni, allora centrocampista della Fiorentina e della nazionale italiana, firma ad Antonio Caliendo quella che probabilmente è la prima procura generale sottoscritta da un calciatore. Dal 1979 Caliendo inizia a lavorare a tempo pieno come “procuratore”, oggi “agente di calciatori”, ed alla fine degli anni ottanta annovera fra i suoi assistiti circa 140 campioni. Nel 1990, nella finale a Roma dei Campionati del mondo tra la Germania e la nazionale Argentina, 12 dei 22 giocatori in campo sono suoi “clienti”. Tra i giocatori più famosi che ha assistito ci sono Aldair, Roberto Baggio, Carlos Dunga, Ramon Diaz, Daniel Passerella, Salvatore Schillaci e David Trezeguet. Oggi Caliendo mette a disposizione della WCC e dei suoi clienti la sua vasta esperienza nel mondo del calcio non solo come agente di calciatori ma anche come consulente di mercato di grandi clubs.
Born in 1944 in the province of Naples, Antonio Caliendo starts working as an agent for the publishing house De Agostini when he is very young. Then, a few years later, he establishes his own publishing-house (I.N.E.I.). He invents the school diaries about sports, and publishes a few handbooks about great sport champions of the 70’s, among the others the one about Adriano Panatta. On 16 December 1977 Giancarlo Antognoni, at that time the midfielder of Fiorentina F.C. and of the Italian selection, signs in favour of Antonio Caliendo what is probably the very first Power of Attorney ever granted by a football player. Since 1979 Caliendo starts working full-time as a football players’ manager, currently “Football Players’ Agent”, and around the end of the 80’s he counts about 140 big champions in the list of “his” players. In the 1990 World Cup final game GERMANY – ARGENTINA, 12 out of the 22 players in the starting line-ups were his clients. Among the most famous players he represented there are Aldair, Roberto Baggio, Carlos Dunga, Ramon Diaz, Daniel Passarella, Totò Schillaci and David Trezeguet. Now Caliendo offers to WCC and to its clients his vast experience in football matters not only as an agent but also as a market advisor for great clubs.
